These elegant caps were worn by the instructors at the camps where boys were prepared for initiation into the bwami society. The design is usually conical, with buttons sewn around the sides and a crest made from a noble animal such as an elephant or an eagle.
This cap is sewn all around with white shell buttons and has a crest. The chinstrap is also sewn with buttons.
