Masque cimier antropomorphe stylisé représentant une tête de femme avec des cornes de buffle.
On retrouve ici toute la beauté graphique du style Mama. Les lignes
sont douces et épurées, très impactantes visuellement.
Symboliquement, les cornes se rejoignent formant ainsi un cercle, et marquant
l'accomplissement d'un cycle renouvellé.
Les cornes sont symbole de fertilité dans l'ethnie Mama, celle-ci peut être
associée indifféremment à la fertilité de la terre
ou celle des femmes et épouses.
Ce type de statuaire est généralement employée par une groupe d'hommes, au sein du village Mama, qui ont comme charge sociale, le développement du village ou de la production agricole de celui-ci.
Ce sont donc les gardiens de la prospérité du village.
Le masque est sculpté dans un bois dense, recouverte d'une patine sombre.

The horns are symbol of fertility in the Mama ethnos group, this one can be indifferently associated with the fertility with the ground or that with the women and wives.
This type of sculptor is generally employed by a group of men, within the Mama village, who have like social contribution, the development of the village or the agricultural production of this one.
They are thus the guards of the prosperity of the village.
The mask is carved in a dense wood.

Man findet hier die ganze graphische Schönheit des Mama-Stils wieder. Die Linien sind zart und gereinigt, sehr, die sichtlich zusammenpressen. Symbolisch treffen sich die Hörner wieder, die so einen Kreis bilden und die die Verwirklichung eines Zyklus markieren. Die Hörner sind Fruchtbarkeitssymbol in der Volksgruppe Mama, diese kann in gleicher Weise mit der Fruchtbarkeit der Erde oder jener der Frauen und Ehefrauen verbunden werden.
Dieser Typ von statuarischem wird im allgemeinen durch eine Mannesgruppe gebraucht innerhalb des Mama-Dorfes, die als Soziallasten haben, die Entwicklung des Dorfes oder der landwirtschaftlichen Produktion derselben.
Es sind also die Wärter des Wohlstands des Dorfes.
