Magnificent idol Lega called Maginga.
Big size, 92 cms with feathers.

These statuettes rarely higher than 25 or 30 cms without feathers are cut either in the wood or in the ivory.

Used during the ceremonies of initiation it is a mnemonics tool and tells a a proverb implying the ancestors.

Heavy wood, libations, little bit fat and gleaming patina, eyes seems in bone or in pearls.

Feet are little eated by termits.
