Very beautiful and old mask polychrome. Contrary to
the other masks of this ethnic group, this one is "more raw",
more minimalist, "less
seducing", what makes all its charm, all its rarity.
The set of details composing this mask would let
think that it is about a dissimilar of existing materials, and not a
size monoxyle as generally.

Symbolically, horns join forming so a circle, and marking
the fulfillment of a cycle.
Horns are symbol of fertility in the ethnic group Mama,
this one can be associated indifferently to the fertility of the earthor
that of the women and wives.
This type of mask is generally usedby one group of people,
within the village Mama, who have as social responsibility, the
development of the village or the agricultural production of this one.
They are so the guards of the prosperity of the village.
The ceremonies during which are used this type of mask are called Mangam.
