| More than 78 type of different masks form part of the Dogon
ceremonies. They have all as a constant of the extremely stylized features
and are zoomorphe. If one manages to recognize the animal associated with
each mask, its significance on the other hand was known only by the dignitary
of each
worship. Its role was then to explain to the spectators attentive
with the dances, the history associated with each mask. The mask presented here is associated the crocodile, surmounted
of a figure of ancestor hiding the face of the two hands. The crocodile is an important figure at dogons. The legend
tells that a dignitary, Nangabourou which was thirsty, followed a
