Ancient, rare and magnificent bracelet Dogon.
In cuprous miscellany ( majority brass) but ferrous oxidation of surface.
Bronze flowed in the lost wax.
Magnificent work
of decoration.
On a face, two tortoises (the tortoise represents the
mediation between the sky and the earth and is considered as
a divine messenger by Dogons) and a Dove ?
On the other side, two crocodiles (considered to Dogons as the servant
of Nommos).
On every handle, a couple of Nommos, man and woman,
symbolizing the first couple.
Part overtaking in the middle in probably served for wearing
it in the style of an amulet with a lace around the neck.
It is an exceptional piece rich in symbols and in
history.
