To Fang, Byeri is connected with the cult of the ancestors and more exactly with the reliquaries which their are dedicated.
According to Perrois, it is behind the bed of the family chief that were discreetly settled reliquaries, wooden effigies and the personal relics.
These reliquaries are constituted by two parts :
- The box confines in bark which is going to contain osseous relics, which Fang names nsekh o byeri,
- And the perpendicular figure which surmounts the box : eyema o byeri which means the head.
